Puppy Watching from Home Security Cameras

A dog is a man’s best friend. They are loyal, they are your walking buddy, playful, and protective. A dog loving couple was excited to move into their new home with a big yard for their two new English setter puppies. The couple was curious about the puppy adventures their dogs would get into while they were away at work. They were so curious that the installed a home security camera so they could watch the English setter puppies. They would watch the puppies from their computers at work and see what they were up to during the day. However, one day while watching the puppies from work, they were viewing their home being broken into by two burglars.

The home security camera captured the entire break in. The home owner acted quickly and called police to notify them of the break in, and police responded within minutes of the call. He continued to watch the burglars break into his home and steal from him and his wife. One man broke the front window and climbed into the home where he proceeded to unlock the front door for his accomplice. One of the dogs was barking at the thieves while the other dog appeared to be hiding somewhere. The two thieves stole a lot of electrical equipment, and luckily for the home owners, they didn’t see the security camera. By the time the police had arrived at the couple’s home, the thieves had already fled from the crime scene. The police were unable to catch the thieves during the break in but are confident that the men will be caught and charged with theft in the near future. The home security camera recorded clear images of the thieves, their actions, and what they stole from the home. The images are very clear of their faces and the home owners and police are hopeful that someone will recognize the men and turn them in.

The couple had originally bought the security camera as a fun way to watch their puppies during the day. They never expected for their home to be broken into and vandalized, but they are glad they had the cameras to record evidence of the crime. The two puppies can’t give evidence or an account of the break in to police, but luckily the cameras captured clear images to be used as evidence. The home owners have a new appreciation for home security cameras and understand their importance for added security, not just entertainment.

Halifax Police Got it Right

The Halifax Police Department has a great plan to protect their city which is both strategic and cost effective. Their safety plan exemplifies the advantages that cameras for security have for protecting people's homes and large areas of a city. The Halifax police are using wireless security cameras to catch criminals and control large crowds during events. They see the benefits and advantages of using a wireless system to monitor their city.

Instead of installing more fixed cameras throughout the city, they realized that having wireless cameras would be more cost effective. They can move the cameras where they need them, when they need them. During events such as concerts, more cameras will be needed in that area to control and monitor the influx of people and activity. Portability is one of the major advantages to using a wireless system. A string of robberies might occur in a neighborhood one week and at a shopping mall the next week. Having the portability of a security camera will allow them to monitor areas of town they think crimes will be occurring or where there are hot spots for criminal activity. Being able to move locations of the security cameras will allow police to gather more evidence as well because the cameras won't have to stay in one fixed position or location. This will, in turn, raise the probability of catching criminals.

There are other advantages of wireless security systems that the Halifax police department will benefit from. The most important is that the cameras have high resolution and capture clear images. This will make it easier to identify individuals or distinguishing characteristics. Having an image will make the likelihood of an arrest greater. The other security cameras in the city have the risk of being damaged. With the new cameras being used, there is no chance that the cameras can be turned off because there isn't any wiring to be cut or pulled. A lot of criminals will cut the wires off a security camera to disable them if they know they are being monitored. The cost effectiveness of the new cameras will help lower costs for the police department. Wireless security cameras are inexpensive and don't require any type of wiring system to be monitored. They are battery operated and can be viewed from any location. The advantages of using security cameras and the knowledge of the Halifax police will help keep their city safe.

Wireless Security Cameras on Campus

An issue that large universities struggle with is campus protection. There are so many students that commute to campus for class, and students also make campus their home by living in the dorm rooms. Not only does the campus need to protect students, staff, and faculty, they have to protect the students’ dorms which have become their homes. There are so many areas of campus that need to be protected such as parking lots, dorm halls, lecture halls, and dining halls. Campus security does a great job to protect areas, but not every space can be viewed at all times. Campuses are now turning to wireless security cameras for added protection. The security cameras not only monitor the campus, but the cameras are on every minute of the day and night, and record images.

In recent headlines in San Antonio, Texas, the University of Texas San Antonio has opted to use wireless security cameras on their campus. The University is increasing the number of students accepted and areas of the campus are being expanded. They had to build a new parking lot to accommodate the students, staff and faculty. The parking lot can park up to 600 vehicles. Campus officials were concerned with the safety of the parking lot because it is in a remote location on campus, and so many vehicles would be parked there as it is the largest lot on campus. The campus police use the recorded footage to capture license plate information they may not have not have recorded if something happened. They also use the wireless security cameras to monitor unusual behavior. It also records every car that leaves and enters the parking lot. The security cameras have proven to be effective. They have solved cases involving theft and attempted break-ins. The cameras are a deterrent to crime and help keep the campus safe.

Using wireless security cameras for campus protection is cost effective and reliable. The cameras deter crime, produce clear images, can be moved easily to view different areas on campus, and help campus police watch over the campus. Campus officials will be able to meet budget criteria for safety because the only fee associated with using a wireless camera is buying the cameras. The cameras don’t require a monthly fee for usage like most security alarm services. Students will start to feel safer on campus knowing that there is 24/7 protection, and police can do their job easily with the images provided from the footage.
