Operation Wireless Security Cameras

A favorite Austin landmark, for both locals and visitors, is Lady Bird Lake. It was formally known as Town Lake. The Colorado River runs through the downtown area. It is great for the scenery and also for as a place to work out. The trails around the shoreline are popular for walking and biking and the trails are never empty. It has been a favorite among walkers, runners, and bikers since the 1970s when the trails were built. In Texas, it is one of the oldest urban hike and bike paths, and it still maintains its popularity and purpose for recreation.

Unfortunately, due to the popularity and crowded location, this has become a hot spot for theft. People sometimes leave their cars unlocked while the run, so they won’t have to worry about working out and holding their keys. Valuables such as cell phones were being stolen from cars. The Austin Police Department set up a sting to catch some of the thieves that lurk around Lady Bird Lake. The police set up designated cars in the parking areas around the trails. The cars were set up with wireless security cameras in them to catch the thieves while in action and to monitor their behavior to see what they were targeting for theft.

The footage being recorded from the wireless security cameras was viewed from another location nearby so the police could spring into action quickly without being detected right away. In one of the cars, the police left the car keys in the car. A thief saw the keys in the car and sure enough made an attempt to steal the car. The thief actually started up the car and was ready to drive off until the police surrounded the car and mad an arrest for attempted robbery. All of which was seen on the footage being recorded from the security camera inside the car. Other cars were set up with the windows left open and some thieves looked inside the cars for anything of interest or value.

The operation was able to be carried out because of the use of wireless security cameras. They could be set up and hidden in the cars easily because there’s virtually no instillation. Wireless security cameras can be viewed from any location, and in this case was done so with a laptop in a nearby safety location. The security cameras also provided evidence for prosecution of the thieves because the video was being recorded. The security cameras provided assistance in the police operation.

Security Cameras in the Hills

The Hollywood Hills are notoriously known as the place to live if you are a celebrity or have a lot of money. The homes are fabulous and worth millions of dollars and the views of California are amazing. Not only are the homes expensive, but the decorations of the homes are also valuable. Because of the prestige of the Hollywood Hills neighborhood, it can also be a hot spot for thieves looking to make some money by stealing. A lot of homeowners in this neighborhood have security devices to protect their homes.

Recently, two robbers were hitting the area trying to break into different homes. They worked in the middle of the day when they knew people would be at work or out enjoying the California sunshine. However, one celebrity took the initiative of installing home security cameras on her property. Lindsay Lohan’s house was almost broken into but luckily the images of the thieves were caught on her security camera, and they weren’t able to break into her house to steal anything. The Los Angeles Police Department released the video footage of the two men trying to break in. They even have recorded video footage of the type of car they were driving, a gray station wagon, and the activity from their attempted break in. One man stayed in the car to drive away at a moment’s notice, and the other guy used some sort of tool to try and break in through the house gate. The Los Angeles Police Department is hoping that someone will recognize the two men from the released video footage and turn them in.

Home security cameras aren’t just for the rich and famous. They can be used by everyone because they are so affordable and easy to install and use. Wireless security cameras are the easiest cameras to install because there aren’t any wires that have to be connected to a home monitoring system. They also have the feature to be set up to the internet, so that you can view the footage from a computer while you are away at work or just away from home. If Lindsay Lohan didn’t have a home security camera, the images of the men may have never been recorded and released to the public. She was lucky that their attempted break in was unsuccessful, but now they men are likely to be caught because of the clear images from the camera. Their chances of robbing another home have decreased since the likelihood of their arrest is high. Security cameras provide protection for your home and they also help the police to capture criminals.

Camera Thief Caught on Wireless Security Camera

When a business owner arrived to work in the morning, he noticed that two benches had been moved and were placed in front of the door. He looked around to see why they would have been moved, and saw that the security cameras were missing. Upon review of the recorded footage, he discovered that in face the cameras were stolen. The business owner jokingly remarked that perhaps the thief wanted the security cameras for his mother’s day gift for his own mother.

Fortunately for this business owner, the camera thief wasn’t very smart. The wireless security camera captured and recorded a clear image of his face right before he stole the camera. The thief was wearing a mask, but it didn’t hide his entire face. From the images, the thief’s mouth, nose, and eyes are still visible from the mask. The images were recorded up until the second he stole the camera, so the business owner and the police have a picture of the masked man to show the public. They are hoping that someone will recognize enough features of his face that were shown so they can make an arrest and prosecute the man.

In addition the wireless security cameras affixed to the front door, there were also cameras mounted on the rooftop of the building. The rooftop cameras also recorded images of the theft taking place. The masked thief was described as having ninja like characteristics. He went to great lengths to steal the cameras that were also on the rooftop. To get to the rooftop, the thief had to jump fences and scale up the side of the building use a lumber rack for hand and foot holdings. Not only did he have to climb up 18 feet high, but it was raining while all of this was taking place.

After police reviewed the footage the cameras had recorded before they were stolen, it appears that the thief’s purpose was solely to steal the cameras. He never tried to break into the store. Also, after investigating the outside of the building, there weren’t any attempts to break door locks or windows. The business owner is puzzled by the thief’s actions. He said that wireless security cameras are so affordable and, he doesn’t know why the thief wasn’t trying to steal merchandise from his store.

Employees of the store have posted pictures of the masked man around the store and put the video footage up on YouTube. They are hoping someone will recognize the parts of his face that were shown. The wireless security cameras the thief now has in his possession will more than likely be the reason the man is found and charged with theft.

Solving Crimes With Security Cameras

The most effective defense in solving a crime is proving the facts with evidence. Wireless security cameras provide evidence against crimes that can’t be disputed against. What you see on camera, is what happens on camera. “The lens never lies.” Security cameras have been used in court to convict criminals of robbery, violence, harassment, and car accidents. Recently, in a high profile prosecution, the video footage from security cameras is providing evidence to convict a person of violence and robbery.

You can’t go a day without watching the news and hearing stories of the Craig’s List killer, Phillip Markoff. His most recent allegation is that he robbed and assaulted a woman at a hotel. There is even video footage from the hotel security camera to prove that he was at the hotel, the scene of the crime. The footage will play a large part in the case for providing evidence, and if convicted, he’ll spend up to 50 years in prison if convicted on a guilty charge. The footage from the security camera shows Phillip Markoff walking around the Holiday Inn Express in Rhode Island. The footage doesn’t show him in a hotel room, but prosecutors can prove, at least, that he was at the hotel. Two days before this footage was recorded, police are claiming that he killed a masseuse at a Marriot hotel in downtown Boston. It hasn’t been released if there are tapes from the Marriot hotel. It is likely that there would be some type of hotel security cameras in the lobby, and that footage would also aid in convicting him of the murder that took place at the Marriot.

Phillip Markoff is only 23 years old and was a med-student. He is in jail currently awaiting trial for the murders. He is being held without the possibility of getting out on bail. He was engaged to be married in the near future, and his fiancée has called off their wedding. It seemed as though he had a great future ahead of him with a promising medical career and wife. However, the evidence from the security cameras recorded evidence from the double life he was leading.

Wireless security cameras are so effective as evidence because the crimes or actions of everyday life can be viewed in real time if they are monitored. If they aren’t monitored, the recordings provide clear images. The cameras have a high resolution and provide clear images.
